1965 Cidade Jardim

(Introduction)

A garden city imagined in 1965 and never built, finally rising sixty years later.

(The Project)

In the centre of Santo António dos Cavaleiros, AM48 revives a dream drawn half a century ago, a garden city imagined by some of Portugal's most renowned architects, reborn as around 400 apartments across seven buildings. Nuno Leónidas Arquitectos weave commerce and gardens into planted façades.

(Our Approach)

Momentum built the project's full visual identity ahead of launch. Aerial views establish the garden-city concept at urban scale; exteriors and a wide interior series bring it down to daily life; and an extensive set of humanised floor plans supports the commercial effort building by building, zone by zone.

(The Craft)

Cinemagraphs and a sequence of film shots introduced movement, leaves, light, passers-by, while virtual reality tours, including exterior balcony viewpoints with real orientation, let buyers stand inside apartments that will only exist years from now. When the architecture of an entire zone changed, the model, plans and imagery changed with it, keeping the campaign truthful throughout.

(Final thoughts)

An idea waited sixty years for this, and the work owed it that much.
